Spoiled - this is my life. I have the freedom, the liberty, given by my gracious, loving, tender Heavenly Father to educate myself as well as my children to live a life that lends itself to the nurture and admonition of the Lord. First, for myself to see that I, personally can be nurtured and admonished by God Almighty. Secondly, to give this type of lifestyle to my children. So, what exactly is nurture and admonitionn and what does it provide?
Noah Webster's 1828 Online Dictionary states nurture as such:
Nurture: verb,
1. To feed; to nourish. To educate; to bring or train up.
Admonish: verb,
1. To warn or notify of a fault; to reprove with mildness. "Count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3.
2. To counsel against wrong practices; to caution or advise. "Admonish one another in psalms and hymns" Colossians 3
3. To instruct or direct. "Moses was admonished of God, when he was about to make the tabernacle." Hebrews 4
Admonition: Noun
Gental reproof; counseling against a fault; instruction in duritie; caution; direction" Titus 3, 1 Corinthians 10.
What does this have to do with being spoiled? Everything! I use the definition of spoiled as I think of it as it is used in secular term. Having everything I could ever want. I have been given by God, everything that I could ever want. If I choose to educate myself in God's Word, to train myself up and to reprove my heart, my soul, my mind with mildness according to God's Word, then I am at liberty.
